Cecilia Szabó
I am a German-Hungarian artist who explores notions of nature and the various roles it plays both for individuals and in interpersonal relationships.
In doing so, I address pressing ecological issues, examine and question the responses to them – often in an urban context. Idealisation and escapism, aesthetic and mystical aspects play just as much a role as communication and demarcation. I invite critical reflection on cultural traditions of perception, representation and evaluation of the natural world.
My aim is to reveal the delicate and mysterious, the quiet, transparent and at the same time dynamic.
I work across media and concepts. I live in Germany.

As part of my projects, I collaborate with theatre makers, dancers and landscape architects, and joint projects with musicians, composers and florists are in the pipeline.
