Cecilia Szabó
I explore images, ideas, and projections of nature and its role at the intersection of individual experience and interpersonal relationships. Themes such as idealization and escapism, aesthetic elevation and mystical significance, as well as communication and demarcation, serve as my starting point. My work focuses on examining cultural traditions of perception, representation, and evaluation of the “natural.”
My work spans various media and concepts, moving between video, photography, and installation.
I am committed to art and culture because they are indispensable to an open, vibrant society – as spaces for discourse and for creatively shaping the future. This is why I dedicate myself to this cause, both personally and voluntarily.
